Backstory
Raised beneath the vibrant canopies of Brazil, Juno spent her youth with her gaze fixed upward, idolizing the titans of the Vector Strike league. For years, she was a spectator to her own dreams, possessing the heart of a competitor but lacking the supernatural spark that defined her heroes. Everything changed when she met Marcus; more than a mentor, he was the architect who saw her hidden potential and paved her path into the storied light of the arena.

Her journey has not been an easy one. As an outsider, she navigated the fringes of the sport with a quiet, diligent resolve, anchored by a steadfast belief in the integrity of the game and the bond of her team. In her natural state, Juno is a study in stillness, shy, unassuming, and deeply empathetic.

Yet, this reserved exterior is merely a cocoon. The moment she taps into her ability, the transformation is breathtaking. A sudden, electric surge of energy pulses through her veins, turning her quiet presence into a radiant explosion of power. It is a metamorphosis in real-time: the patient caterpillar shedding its limitations to become the butterfly, finally taking flight in the moment she was always meant to claim.
Backstory
The Parisian air held a crisp bite, a stark contrast to the humid Congolese nights Marcus remembered from his childhood. Back then, his dreams were filled with chlorinated water and the rhythmic slap of his stroke. He had arrived in the City of Light on a swimming scholarship, a scrawny kid with ambitions as wide as the Seine.

Yet, victories in the pool eluded him. Years later, Vector Strike, a sport he had picked up on the gritty streets of the Parisian outskirts, became his unexpected love. He wasn't a striker, nor was he a towering center. Marcus was the glue, the quiet enforcer under the goal. He would snag rebounds with tireless grace, orchestrate plays with a calm head, and always have a hand outstretched to help a teammate up after a fall. But the championship trophy always seemed to dance just out of reach; second place had become a familiar friend.

Retirement loomed, a bittersweet prospect. Vector Strike had given him a life and a sense of camaraderie he wouldn’t trade for anything. Now, the team was tasked with scouting new talent, and Marcus, with his keen eye for potential and unwavering patience, was a natural fit. He crisscrossed the globe, traveling not in the luxurious first-class cabins he had once dreamed of, but on budget airlines and cramped trains. Yet, the thrill of discovery burned bright.

In a dingy gym in a forgotten corner of New York, he saw her, a kid quick on her feet with a raw talent that mirrored his own from years ago. She played with a fire that reflected Marcus's own lost championship dreams. He spent hours with her after the game, not drilling her on technicalities, but sharing stories of resilience and the lessons learned from being "almost."

As he boarded the plane back to Paris, a comforting weight settled in Marcus’s chest. This year would be his last on the court, but a part of him, the part honed by years of being the runner-up, would live on in the roar of the crowd, the squeak of sneakers, and the sweet sting of a victory that might, just might, finally belong to someone he helped guide there. The championship trophy might have eluded him, but the joy of nurturing champions was a victory all its own.
Backstory
Once the formidable titan at the helm of HLG Corp’s greatest rival, Otto was a man whose word could move markets. That life of high-stakes commerce ended abruptly in the twisted metal of a rain-slicked highway, a tragedy that claimed his wife and daughter and left him a ghost of his former self. Now, he is a man defined by a singular, somber purpose: using his vast fortune to manage the team his daughter once loved, keeping her memory alive through the grit of the arena.

Physically, Otto is a force of nature, a "unit of a man" who carries the weathered gravitas of an Atlantic sailor poured into the sharp, unforgiving lines of a corporate suit. His face is a map of hard-won experience and deep-seated grief, his eyes reflecting the cold, grey depth of a winter sea. He is as immovable as an anchor, hardened by decades of boardroom warfare and the crushing weight of his loss.

Yet, beneath the silent exterior of this retired giant lies a smoldering suspicion. He carries a dark, unproven hunch that the "accident" was no coincidence, but a calculated strike by HLG Corp. Without evidence, he remains a predator in the shadows, determined, patient, and dangerous. He is a man with nothing left to lose, waiting for the single thread of proof that will allow him to finally unleash the storm.

Tech
See Otto Ascher/Tech

History
Otto went through many development revisions, with multiple different ideas for the visuals for his wall. Originally he was given the "earth" element but this was later changed to energy for his wall.
<br><br><br>
Early development also references his name as "Sten" and reinforces the earth element.
Backstory
Emerging from the gritty, storied streets of Boston, Liza has ascended to the throne of pop-rock with the narrative heart of a songwriter and the magnetic pulse of a stadium icon. She exists at the intersection of haunting vulnerability and dance-floor defiance, a singular force who captures the public’s obsession with the same intensity as the legends who came before her. To the world, she is a riddle wrapped in a melody, a star whose every personal secret is chased by a relentless spotlight.

Her trajectory was forever altered during a high-gloss commercial shoot that went tragically wrong, leaving her with the physical and emotional scars of a devastating fire. Yet, rather than retreating into the shadows, Liza emerged from the trauma with a defiant, bubbly spirit. She is the life of every celebration, a responsible leader for her band, and a woman who radiates a genuine, infectious joy.

However, there is a complex paradox burning within her. Despite the pain the element once caused, she harbors a magnetic, almost reverent fascination with fire, a fixation on the very heat that tried to consume her. In Liza, the world sees a phoenix who didn't just survive the flames, but learned to love the light they cast. She is a woman of responsible grace and playful energy, forever dancing on the edge of the spark that defines her.
This method uses SteamCMD and expects basic knowledge of the command line.
# Install SteamCMD
# Open the SteamCMD executable file and let it initialize itself
# Run <code>force_install_dir</code> followed by the install path you'd like to install the server to. For this example the server will be installed to C:\VectorStrikeServer. This path is NOT recommended and is for example purposes only. Please locate a memorable, organized place to put the server. Full command would be <code>force_install_dir "C:\VectorStrikeServer"</code>
# Log in to Steam Public with <code>login anonymous</code>, this game has no restriction on hosting.
# Run <code>app_update 3675450</code>. This should install all the files to the previously set install dir.
# Locate the now installed server, right click MercuryServer.exe and click Create shortcut. Change the properties of the shortcut so the target has <code>-log</code> at the end. The target field should now look something like this <code>C:\VectorStrikeServer\MercuryServer.exe -log</code>. Please note that the path will differ depending on where the server was installed.
# This shortcut can now be moved anywhere, renamed, and ran. This will open the server.

Linux
The SteamCMD depot does not contain any Linux server files at this point. Basic Linux CLI knowledge is expected. Installation has to be done manually.
# Install the files from this link
# Extract the ZIP somewhere memorable, and cd into the LinuxServer folder.
# Congratulations, you can now run the server in the terminal by running <code>sh MercuryServer.sh</code> or <code>bash MercuryServer.sh</code>. Pretty simple.
More complex setup can be done to dockerize or run the server in systemctl but this will not be covered here.
Extra
Depending on the method of hosting, such as a home computer, the UDP port 7777 will likely need to be opened. This will allow external users to connect to the server. Your IP is what other players will connect to.

Welcome to Vector Strike. Tight teamplay and quick decision making is vital, but you'll never get there if you don't understand the fundamentals. This page will cover all the basics of playing Vector Strike, excluding basic FPS controls, and any Striker specific tips or tricks. Projectiles that you can fire will be referred to as Shooting and interactions with the ball as Throwing.

Shooting
Long Shot
The Long Shot is the most basic type of projectile in the game, shooting forward at the cursor and arcing down over time. With a max ammo of placeholder and placeholder in the immediate pool before needing to reload. Upon hitting a surface they will bounce placeholder times. If a Long Shot hits the ball it'll push it. Depending where it hits the ball it may also apply spin.

Breaker Shot
The Breaker Shot is a short ranged shot intended to break grabs. With a max ammo if placeholder and placeholder in the immediate pool before needing to reload. Breaker Shots will break any grab, opponent and friendly. It also excels in defense, being easier to use to push the ball back as it heads towards the goalie and/or the goal. Two shots usually counteracts any momentum the ball may have.

Movement
Dashing
Dashing is a core feature of Vector Strike, allowing the player to gain a burst of speed that can throw the ball. Dashing into the ball will redirect it to wherever the player dashing is currently looking and add to its momentum. In certain situations, this can cause the ball to curve. This can be abused to consistently curve the ball, in what's known as a Curve Dash. While airborne the dash has one charge until touching any solid surface once more. This surface can be a wall, the floor, or by standing on the ball. This single dash also affects attempting to throw the ball with dash.

Sliding
Sliding is the main way to preserve momentum, and is commonly paired with a Dash to efficiently move around the map.

Wall Running
When parallel to a wall, jumping will allow the player to wall run on the wall. This can be used to gain vertical positioning and escape visibility of other players.

Ball Handling
Grabbing
The ball can be grabbed by holding right click. The longer the ball is grabbed, the more it slows down the holder, this is to encourage teamplay and passing. While the ball is grabbed, other players cannot grab it or shoot it with long shot. The ball can still be broken out of grab by using abilities such as Fireball, by being Breaker Shot, or by having the ball be dashed into. After a ball is no longer grabbed whether that be by having the grab broken, or the ball thrown, a short cooldown is initiated before being able to grab again.
Throwing
Throwing the ball can be done by simply letting go of the grab button, tossing the ball towards wherever the player holding the ball is looking. The ball can also be dashed into by the holder while held to send it forward. Typically to get further distance, the throw is quickly followed up by one or two Long Shots.
Dropping
Dropping the ball is typically used in more advanced tech or to confuse players. It can be done by pressing placeholder by default, and simply sets down the ball. The pickup cooldown causes this to be inconsistently useful, as the ball can easily be shot away.

The tech on this page is generalized for use by any Striker. If you're looking for specific tech, please go to that Striker's page.

Ballhop
The ballhop is the core to most movement, and can be used to achieve angles otherwise inaccessible or too lengthy to reach. A common use is to hop above Otto's Energy Wall to score a goal.
The way to execute a ballhop is to position the ball under yourself, jump, and then toss the ball while slightly clipped inside of it or slightly above it. This will send both yourself and the ball into the air. Be wary of opponents who have the opportunity to shoot the ball out from under you, though due to the Long Shot's projectile speed this is rather difficult to do.

Dribble Hop
Dribble hopping is a form of dribbling used to maintain ball height without wasting Dash or using walls. It is performed by jumping with the ball under you while in the air. This will apply a force to the ball to send it down, and keep you in the air. This does not refill dash. By spamming jump multiple times, you can push the ball down with enough force that it reaches back up to ballhop height. At this point you grab the ball, position it under yourself, drop it with the drop keybind, and repeat the dribble hop.
This is fun to do, but ultimately impractical as a single good Long Shot or an opponent rushing to Breaker Shot you will lead to the dribble being broken and ball control being lost.
Wall Dribble
Wall dribbling is performed by combining the idea of a Dribble Hop with a wall. It's set up by throwing the ball up against the wall, and then dashing to grab it after the rebound and landing on the wall in a Wallrun. It can be continued by jumping off the wall, aiming slightly away from the wall and up, throwing then dashing and re-entering a Wallrun while re-grabbing the ball. This can be chained a little easier as Juno Morales by using her Burst ability.
Curve Dash
Curve dashing is a form of dashing into the ball that produces a hard curve opposite to the direction dashed. It is performed by having the ball sat next to you and using your strafe keys (Typically A or D) to dash into the ball. If dashing right the ball will curve left, and vice versa. This can be aimed by looking in a specific location. This happens due to the fact that the ball will always attempt to go directly where your camera is looking when dashed into, but the dash pushes the ball sideways. This initiates spin which will curve the ball in the air.

MapleAtMorning:

The ball can still be broken out of grab by using abilities such as Fireball, by using a Breaker Shot, or by having the ball be dashed into.
Throwing
Dropping
Vector Strike's first Steam release occurred as part of Next Fest 2025, releasing as a demo. This was followed by a launch into free Early Access on March 4th 2025. This was followed by a few small updates and patches before Chamo Games got dissolved in November 2025, putting the game in limbo. Multiple teams were contacted in attempt to continue funding or development with no development team taking over Vector Strike. On January 27th 2026 the game was set to be $5.99 USD on Steam in an effort to gain a little bit of funding for smaller patches.

Welcome to Vector Strike. Tight teamplay and quick decision making is vital, but you'll never get there if you don't understand the fundamentals. This page will cover all the basics of playing Vector Strike, excluding any Striker specific tips or tricks.

The ball can still be broken out of grab by using abilities such as Fireball, by using a Breaker Shot, or by having the ball be dashed into.
Throwing
Dropping
